Charles II reigned during the Restoration period till 1685.

1685- his brother James II came to power. He was opposed by the Parliament for his support of Roman Catholics and had to leave the country.

1689- William of Orange (the nephew of James II and the husband of Mary of Orange - the daughter of James II)  became King William III and co-reigned with his wife who became Queen Mary II.

1702- Queen Anne ( the 2nd daughter of James II and the sister of Mary II) came to power. She was the last monarch of the Stuart dynasty.
